YOU ARE A REGISTRAR?

Martha’s Care College of Science, the first College in Nigeria with a focus on caregiving, integrates a wide range of supportive and entrepreneurial components designed to produce graduates of global standards. Located in the serene town of Igbogene-Epie in Yenagoa Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, the institution is set to commence academic activities on August 30, 2024.

Martha’s Care College of Science is a fully residential institution, providing all students with accommodation in a modern, well-equipped hostel.

The College is pleased to announce vacancy for the position of a Registrar. Interested candidates must demonstrate intellectual excellence, integrity, and sound judgment. Additionally, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

The Registrar

The Registrar is responsible to the Provost for the day-to-day administrative activities of the College, excluding financial matters, which fall within the purview of the Bursar. The successful candidate must demonstrate strong administrative skills, integrity, and sound judgment.

Qualifications and Responsibilities

  • Educational Background:
    • A first degree with a minimum of second-class upper division in Social Sciences, Education, Arts, Humanities, or other related fields from a recognized institution.
    • A minimum of fifteen (15) years of post-qualification cognate experience for those with a first degree.
    • A Master’s degree in a relevant discipline with a minimum of ten (10) years of post-qualification cognate experience.
    • A Doctorate degree (Ph.D.) in a relevant discipline with a minimum of ten (10) years of post-qualification cognate experience, with at least ten (10) years gained in a College or similar Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institution.
  • Responsibilities:
    • Oversee the effective management of human and other resources allocated to the Office of the Registrar.
    • Provide input to policy and procedural deliberations, ensuring the College and faculty policies related to student admission and academic progress are adhered to.
    • Coordinate academic records, student registrations, and maintain custody of academic transcripts.

The Registrar plays a pivotal role in the administration of the College, ensuring the smooth operation of academic and administrative processes. TERMS OF APPOINTMENT AND CONDITIONS OF SERVICE

The appointment is for a single tenure of five (5) years in line with existing provisions.

METHOD OF APPLICATION

Interested and qualified candidates should submit ten (10) typed copies of their application letters, curriculum vitae, and photocopies of all relevant documents. Applications should include the following details in the specified order:

  1. Full Names (Surname first and underlined)
  2. Date and place of birth
  3. State of Origin and Local Government Area
  4. Nationality
  5. Marital status
  6. Membership of Professional Bodies/Associations
  7. Honors and Distinctions (if any)
  8. Current Postal Address, including telephone number and email address
  9. Educational Institutions attended with dates
  10. Academic and Professional qualifications obtained with dates
  11. Academic/Scholarly publications
  12. Conferences attended and papers presented with dates
  13. Previous Employer(s) and Post(s) held with dates
  14. Present Employment to include status, duties, and any other relevant experience
  15. Statement of own vision for the College (20 copies)
  16. Other activities outside current employment
  17. Names and addresses of three (3) Referees (Employer, Educational, and Personal) who are to forward Confidential Reports directly to the Chairman Advisory Board. These referees should be able to attest to the candidate’s claim to high academic and managerial capabilities, as well as the candidate’s notable uprightness.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Applicants will be required to produce originals of the certificates and other relevant credentials if invited for an interview. Photocopies will not be accepted.

SALARY

Salaries are attractive and are in line with those currently earned in reputable Colleges in Nigeria.
